Manu Temple is located in the Beas River Valley in Himachal Pradesh, India.

This beautiful shrine is dedicated to Sage Manu, the creator of the human race. Legend has it that Sage Manu once saved Lord Vishnu in the form of a carp fish, and in return, the lord warned him of an impending flood. This led Sage Manu to build a boat big enough to carry his family and nine kinds of animals, birds, and seeds. And where did he land after the flood? You guessed it – right where the Manu Temple now stands!

The journey to the Manu Temple may not be the easiest, but it’s definitely worth it. With a narrow road leading up to the shrine, you might have to park your vehicle a little distance away and walk the rest of the way. But hey, a little exercise never hurt anyone, right? One thing to keep in mind when visiting the Manu Temple is that photography isn’t allowed inside the shrine, also make sure you wear clothes that cover your knees and shoulders.

The best time to visit the Manu Temple is between April and June, when the weather is mostly cold but pleasant. But if you’re a fan of monsoons, you might want to visit between July and September when the region gets an average rainfall of 220 mm. And if you’re a winter person, the months between October and March offer moderate to heavy snowfall and temperatures ranging from -1 degree Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius. So, take your pick!

Now, we know that tour packages for Manali generally don’t include the Manu Temple due to the narrow road leading up to it. But fear not, fellow travelers – you can always ask your local driver to take you there. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can reach the temple by foot or public transport from Manali Market. The closest railway station is Jogindernagar Railway Station, which is about 165 kilometers away from Manali.
