Manimajra Fort, is a fort situated in Mani Majra, Chandigarh .

Are you ready for a journey back in time? Look no further than the historic Manimajra Fort in Chandigarh. This 400-year-old fortress is not just any ordinary fort, it’s a fort with a Hollywood twist.

The Oscar-winning movie Zero Dark Thirty had a few scenes shot here, making it a must-visit for all cinephiles. But that’s not all, every year the fort plays host to the traditional Ramleela play, a 70-year-old tradition that brings the community together.

As you enter the fort, you’ll notice that the fort itself is no longer present but the boundaries of the walls still stand tall. Inside the fort, you’ll find a plethora of small shops selling local wares. The fort has a rich history, as per Mahan Kosh, it was conquered in 1821 by a local zamindar Ghareeb Dass and turned into the capital of his newly created state. The state was last ruled by Bhagwan Singh, but as he was childless, the government took control of the property of the fort.

So pack your bags and head over to Manimajra Fort, where history and entertainment collide.
