The Kune waterfall is at Lonavla in Pune district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the 14th highest waterfall in India.

If you are in the mood to witness something magical and picturesque, then Kune Falls should definitely be on your travel list.

Located between the twin hills of Lonavla and Khandala, Kune Falls is a three-tiered waterfall set amidst the backdrop of Sahayadri mountains. The region is at an elevation of 622 m above sea level and is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a paradise for nature lovers. However, be careful when you are vising during the rainy season as the area might get a little slippery.

While the waterfall itself is a sight to cheer, the journey to get there is equally exciting. Unfortunately, the road leading to the falls is under private property, and hence visitor entry is restricted. But hey, don’t be disappointed! The Kune Church located near the falls serves as a landmark for reaching the falls, and you can still enjoy the beauty from a distance.

The Kune Falls are divided into two sections and make for an enchanting visual experience, especially during the monsoon season. Although swimming and bathing in the water are possible, it might not be safe, so take precautions. The falls are open from 6 AM to 6 PM, and admission is free.

Looking for a comfortable stay? You will find several hotels and low-budget accommodation options near Kune Falls, Lonavla, and Khandala. You can choose from luxury suites to well-appointed cottages to accommodate your budget and needs.

Pro tip: Karjat, a picturesque small hill station village located in the Raigad District of Maharashtra, surrounded by lush farmland and farms, is a popular tourist spot known for its trekking and historical sites. It’s just 108 km from Pune and 63 km from Mumbai on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. So, add Karjat to your travel itinerary and make the most out of your trip!
