The museum spread across 7000 sq.meters and captures the essence of Kerala architecture, tradition, culture over the yesteryears. There are multimedia displays video displays, information boards, maps, charts and more to experience the past and tradition of Kerala.

There is also a library, theatre and a gallery near the museum complex. Thiruvanathapuram Zoo is also nearby.

What are the special attractions ?

The sculpture of Lord Shiva, Roman coins – which portrays the contact of Keralites with Rome during Julius Caesar period, statues of Yoga Narashimhar, Ganesha, burial accompaniments of 1000 AD and even Neolithic inhabitation in Kerala of 2000 BC, Palm leaf manuscripts and Copper plate in Sanskrit and Malayalam

The ticket charges are INR 20 for adults, INR 10 for kids and INR 200 for adults -foreigners and INR 50 for kids. Still Camera charges : INR 25 Mobile Phones use and Camera use is also restricted inside the museum.
