Hogenakkal Falls is a popular tourist attraction, attracting huge crowds during season, everyone wants to have fun among the gushing waters. The whole place covering a few square kilometers, one can see the splendid dance of river Cauvery among the rocks, jumping, spraying, sliding, roaring creating twirls, mists and it is a inviting scene for everyone.
The place is too crowded, as the Hogenekkal falls attracts everyone across the villages, towns, cities like Bangalore, Coimbatore and Chennai making it vibrant. It attracts monkeys too, so be careful about your belongings, as they will let go of any opportunity to flick some of your snacks or even soda.
However, some may not like it. The city like crowd in a lush green forest will put off some. But for many, the attraction is too good and not like to miss the fun in waters. There are many place one can find a small secluded spot and find your own fun zone. There are different demarcated area for women and men, cloth changing room.
There are coracle rides which takes you closer to waterfalls and also among the calm waters, twirls and fast running streams. It costs roughly INR 1000 for five member group. But it is negotiable. The ride takes anywhere between 15-40 minutes to cover the whole area. It takes you to Karnataka border, few treks and crossing bridges, you are back into Tamil Nadu border. Overall, it will be a thrilling experience.
