Barak waterfall is in magical north east.

This stunning waterfall is located within the Tamenglong district, which is known for its untouched forests and mystic surroundings.

The soft gurgling sound of the aqua green water as it gushes down from the hills is music to your ears. And the mist and fog that blankets the waterfall during the winter season only adds to its mystic aura. It’s no wonder that this waterfall is one of the most visited attractions in Tamenglong.

But that’s not all! The Barak river that flows through the district is a major source of irrigation and water for the locals. You can spend your day picnicking on the banks of the river, enjoying the cool breeze and the soothing sound of the water. And for the adventure enthusiasts out there, water sports and rafting are a common sight here.

The Barak waterfall is just one of eight waterfalls located within the Tamenglong district. And because tourism in the area is still at a nascent stage, these waterfalls remain largely untouched, making them even more beautiful. The ridges and precipices surrounding the peaks provide the perfect foothold for those wishing to try their hand at mountain climbing.

To get to the Barak waterfall, you’ll need to make your way to the hidden Bamgaijang village, which is the unofficial entry point to the waterfall. It’s a neat 15 km drive from the Tamenglong district headquarters.
