Bangalore Aquarium is located in the lush Cubbon Park, this aquarium is a fin-tastic destination for all you aquatic enthusiasts out there.

Established in 1983, this aquarium is the most famous and largest of its kind in Bangalore, and the second largest in all of India. You can swim on in and explore a variety of ornamental and exotic fishes, including Siamese Fighters, Catla, Freshwater Prawns, Goldfish, and Red Tail Shark, to name a few.

The aquarium itself is shaped like a dazzling diamond and is spread over three floors. The first floor boasts 14 tanks, while the second floor is home to 69 tanks filled with various cultivable fishes and other aquatic flora and fauna. You can spot all kinds of fin-tastic creatures here, from eels and angelfish to hockey stick tetra and pearl gourami. And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the elusive moon tail fish!

Now, I have to admit, some of the aquariums could be a bit bigger for the larger fish in them. But hey, we can’t all be Michael Phelps, right? And for the low price of about 10 INR , it’s definitely worth a quick visit if you’re nearby or just strolling through the park.

The aquarium is open to the public every day except for Mondays and the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. But fear not, my friends, because the aquarium is open on some special occasions like January 26, August 15, and November 1. Just keep in mind that it will be closed on the next working day.
