Arjun Gufa is a cave for adventure explorers in Manali.

Located in Manali, this legendary natural formation is not just a picnic spot but also a favourite of those who love exploring the unknown.

The climb up to the cave is as exciting as the cave itself, with the stunning natural landscape surrounding it. Once inside the cave, the darkness and the uneven passages make it an even more exhilarating experience. It’s like a treasure hunt where you have to find your way through the cave with flashlights.

Legend has it that Arjun, one of the Pandava Brothers from Hindu mythology, meditated at Arjun Gufa for years to attain the Pashupata Astra, a powerful and destructive weapon. The trek up to the cave draws many enthusiasts.

Now, the best time to visit Arjun Gufa is between March to June as the region is not heavily covered in snow and the weather is quite pleasant throughout the day. And let’s not forget, the walkway to the cave goes through lush green meadows and tall pine trees, making exploring the location an enchanting experience.

To get there, you can take a local bus, rented taxi, or private vehicle to reach the nearby village Prini, which is just 5 kilometres away from Manali. Rented motorbikes are also an option. Once you reach Prini, you’ll have to walk up to the left bank of River Beas and climb up the hill for about 20 minutes to reach the cave entrance.

And lastly, while the cave remains open 24 hours, we suggest exploring it only in the daytime. So pack your flashlights, put on your adventure hats, and let’s go explore the mystical Arjun Gufa!
