Matiabag Rajbari a Palace is in Gauripur, Dhubri district of Assam.
It is a beautiful palace which sits atop Matiabag hill and boasts a picturesque view of the Godadhar river. Hence the name Matiabag Rajbari.
This palace was once used as a Hawakhana by the Royal family of Gauripur and also served as a residence for some notable figures. It was the home of the famous pre-independence era actor and director Pramathesh Chandra Barua (of Devdas movie fame), Padmasree late Pratima Barua Pandey, the great Goalpariya Lokgeet singer and Parboti Barua, the Elephant Queen. Talk about a star-studded residence!
