And for those who want to learn more about the different types of fish, the aquarium has a 3D theatre that uses state-of-the-art technology to educate visitors.
While the Varkala Aquarium may not be the most impressive aquarium in India, it still makes for a fun day-long picnic destination. Kids will especially love it, thanks to the detailed information sections that provide interesting facts about the different fish species.
One of the highlights of the aquarium is its jellyfish exhibit, which is truly mesmerizing. However, we do have to note that some of the aquariums could use some maintenance and a bit more water movement. But overall, we think the Varkala Aquarium is definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re into saltwater and Asian/Indian freshwater fish.
