Thoovanam Waterfalls is on the Munnar-Udumalapet road near Karimutty. While you are travelling on the road, one can see the milky white waterfall enticing you from distance. It is tempting to walk down the hilly slopes to view up close. Alas, one has to get permission from Kerala Forest Department to reach the waterfalls. The waterfalls is set amidst the Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary 3 kms away from ghat road.

Trekking is possible from Alampetty checkpost and it involves a 4 kilometer trek, which may take 2-3 hours. You should start early at 8.00 and return before 2.00 PM. This place more reachable when you are touring Pollachi or Annamalai Tiger Reserve /Parambikulam Tiger Reserve than from Munnar.
