Are you tired of the crowded tourist destinations with the constant hustle and bustle? Well, we’ve got just the place for you – Theog in Himachal Pradesh!

This hidden gem nestled in the lap of the Himalayas is the perfect quiet escape. It’s got everything you could want in a hill station, minus the tourist rush. That’s right, no more fighting for a spot to take that perfect selfie or standing in long lines for attractions.

Theog is the underrated destination that works in its favour, away from the city jazz and close to the lost tranquility of nature. It’s the perfect place to unwind, relax and immerse yourself in the raw existence of nature.

The town mostly experiences pleasant weather all year round, but we recommend visiting in October and November when the climate and the hamlet are at their best. And let’s not forget about the mild to heavy snowfall that starts in November, turning the town into a winter wonderland.

While there are limited accommodation options, there are still plenty of choices to suit different budgets. We highly recommend the state’s PWD guest house as it’s budget-friendly, comfortable and well-connected by road. But if you’re feeling fancy, there are 3 and 4-star resorts available in the township.

To fully experience Theog, we suggest taking a walk around the town. This small hamlet in Shimla is all about nature and its raw existence. It gives you a chance to explore it in its original form, unadulterated and just as it is. Don’t miss out on that!

Oh, and let’s not forget about the locals. They are simple in their way, revelling in the little joys of life. Their main occupation is farming, with the women equally participating with the male members of the family. You can interact with them and experience their simple ways of life. And if you’re a connoisseur of folk music, you’ll love the Pahadi folk music, especially during the Summer Festival celebrated every year.

So, if you’re looking for a peaceful and serene getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, head to Theog.
