Sariyatal, also known as Sarita Tal Lake, a hidden gem located near Kaladhungi in Nainital.

This tiny lake may be artificial, but it’s full of activities like paddle boating and water sports that will make you feel like a natural-born adventurer. It’s perfect for those who seek solitude, appreciate nature, and love taking pictures.

Don’t let its small size fool you – this emerald green lake is fed by a beautiful stream surrounded by lush greenery. The water is cold, so don’t forget to pack a warm towel!

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Sariyatal is also home to the Himalayan Botanical Garden, run by the Forest Department. This 30-hectare garden is a research center, herbarium, and butterfly park, and it’s filled with rare and endangered native plant species. It’s like Jurassic Park, but with plants instead of dinosaurs.

Entry to the Botanical Garden costs just Rs.20 per person, which is cheaper than a cup of chai. You can explore the orchidarium, Thunia Alba orchid, geodesic dome, waterfalls, and other major attractions. It’s a great place to learn about botany and science, or just to admire the beauty of nature.

Sariyatal may be small, but it’s mighty in its charm. The tranquil ambiance, surrounded by trees and picturesque landscapes, will make you feel like you’re in a fairytale. So pack your bags and head over to Sariyatal, where nature is the star of the show.
