Rishikesh, is a town that offers a perfect blend of adventure, spirituality and The Beatles! Located in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, this small town in the foothills of the Himalayas is where the Ganga and Chandrabhaga River meet, creating a perfect spot for all thrill seekers.

Known as the Yoga Capital of the World, Rishikesh has been attracting yoga enthusiasts from around the globe for ages. But did you know it also has a famous connection to The Beatles? That’s right! The Beatles visited the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi here in the 1960s and now it’s popularly known as The Beatles Ashram.

Apart from yoga, Rishikesh offers a wide range of adventure activities like white water rafting, bungee jumping, mountain biking and camping, all along the fast-flowing Holy Ganges. And if you are looking for some spiritual rejuvenation, Rishikesh has got you covered with numerous ashrams, teaching spirituality, yoga, meditation and Ayurveda.

But be warned! Rishikesh is a religious town and strictly prohibits non-vegetarian food and alcohol. So, while you are here, you can feast on some delicious vegetarian food at the popular cafes located on the other side of Rishikesh.

And let’s not forget the evening aarti on the banks of the Ganga, which is a sight to cheer. Unlike its contemporaries in Varanasi and Haridwar, it’s not too crowded and offers a peaceful environment.

So, pack your bags and head to Rishikesh, the gateway to Garhwal Himalayas, for an adventure-packed and spiritual journey.
