Nyingmapa Gompa is definitely worth checking out. Don’t let the tongue-twisting name intimidate you, because this Buddhist monastery is one of the most famous and beautiful attractions in north India.

First of all, the enormous statue of Sakyamuni in a meditative posture is a sight to cheer. Even if you’re not particularly religious, you can’t help but feel a sense of calm and serenity as you walk through the entrance and soak in the tranquil vibe of the monastery.

But wait, there’s more! The colorful paintings on the walls, the intricate designs on the solid red door, and the low desks with floor seating for the monks are just some of the many things that add to the beauty and charm of the Himalayan Nyingmapa Buddhist Temple. And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the Buddhist monks going about their daily activities and prayer services.

Of course, like any other religious site, there are a few rules to follow. Make sure you take off your footwear before entering the monastery, maintain utmost silence, and maybe even leave some fruit offerings for the monks – they’ll definitely appreciate it!

As for getting there, you can take a local bus ride, rent an auto rickshaw or taxi, or even ride a rented motorbike to reach the monastery. And don’t worry about getting lost – the management has put up signs to make sure you don’t end up wandering around the Stupas like a lost puppy.

So what are you waiting for? If you want to escape the chaos of Manali and find some inner peace, the Himalayan Nyingmapa Gompa is the place to be. Trust us, your mind (and your Instagram feed) will thank you for it! Just make sure you visit between October and May – that’s the best time to witness the monastery in all its glory. See you there, fellow wanderers!
