Welcome to Nisargadhama, a picturesque island that will take your breath away!

Situated just 2 km from Kushalnagar and around 30 km from Madikeri, this place is a paradise on earth. It is formed by the river Kaveri and spreads over 64 acres, with a thick bamboo grove, teak trees, and sandalwood that provide shade and beauty to this place.

But wait, there’s more! This place has so much to offer that it will keep you engaged and entertained throughout your visit. To access the island, you have to cross a hanging rope bridge that will give you an adrenaline rush. Once you enter the island, you’ll be welcomed by a myriad of animals, including deer, rabbits, and peacocks. You can also explore the children’s playground, orchidarium, and the ecological park, which is a favorite amongst all ages.

Don’t forget to visit the Rabbit Park and the Deer Park, which offer splendid views of these animals playing around. The place also has a mini zoo where you can see parakeets, bee-eaters, woodpeckers, and a variety of butterflies. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can go for boating in the River Kaveri or even take a dip in a few safe points along the river.

Now, the best part! Nisargadhama has excellent accommodation options, including treetop bamboo cottages and forest-run department guest houses. The deluxe cottage on stilts, with the Kaveri River flowing around it, can accommodate five people. The tariff for these cottages ranges from INR 600 to INR 1,000. And if you want to stay closer to nature, you can spend the night at the tree house facilities available with the restaurant.

But hey, don’t forget to visit the nearby attractions as well. The Golden Temple and Harangi Dam are must-visit tourist spots that are just a few kilometres away from Nisargadhama. And if you love car rides, this place is perfect for you too!

So, pack your bags, book your tickets, and get ready to experience the beauty and serenity of Nisargadhama. The best time to visit is just after the monsoon season, in November and December. Trust us, you won’t regret it!
