Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary

Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary is a wetland in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.

One can spot migratory birds during season. The place is a large breeding ground for Grey Pelicans. According to some estimates, there are around 1500 pelicans during season.

For its part, the state government is also protecting the area, by planting trees and protecting fish.

Some of the species, one can spot are Spot billed pelican, Grey frigate bids, Black bittern, Lesser whistling teal, Black capped kingfisher, Whimbrel, Painted snipe, Spotted sand piper, Gull billed tern, Orange breasted green pigeon..
