First stop on our itinerary, the Dilwara Jain Temples! These beautifully crafted marble temples date back to the 11th to 13th century AD and are considered by some to be even more magnificent than the Taj Mahal. If you’re lucky, you might even get to witness the intricate carvings and designs up close. Pro-tip: The temples are open from 12 noon till 5 pm, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly.

Next, let’s take a dip in the legend of Nakki Lake. As the story goes, the Devtas dug this lake with their very own nails – hence the name Nakki. This is the only artificial lake in India at such a high altitude and is considered sacred by the local tribes. Just imagine, 3937 feet above sea level, surrounded by lush green landscapes and breathtaking sunsets. You can take a leisurely boat ride or just relax on the banks – either way, you’re guaranteed to find inner peace.

We can’t leave Mount Abu without visiting the Achal Garh fort and the Achaleswar Mahadev Temple. This fort was built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century and houses a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. But what sets this temple apart is the worship of Lord Shiva’s great toe! And let’s not forget about the five-metal Nandi idol. People come from far and wide to experience the miracles of this place.

Feeling adventurous? Let’s head to Guru Shikhar, the highest point in Rajasthan. This temple dedicated to Guru Dattatreya is located at an altitude of 5676 feet and requires a climb of 365 steps to reach. But trust us, the breathtaking views from the top and the preserved footprints of Guru Dattatreya on a rock are worth the effort.

Are you ready for a spiritual journey? Adhar Devi Temple or Gaumukh temple, which awaits us within a rocky cleave. This temple dedicated to Goddess Durga is especially crowded during Navratri, but it’s a sight to see. The journey to the temple involves a climb up 365 steps, but the blessings of the deity are said to be equivalent to the donation of 1000 cows.

Finally, let’s have some fun! Trevor’s crocodile park was created by a British engineer, Trevor, and houses a huge tank used for breeding crocodiles. This spot is perfect for picnics and wildlife sightings, with birds and other wild animals in their natural habitat.

And if you’re a wildlife enthusiast, the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-visit. With 112 plant families, 820 species and 3 species of wild rose, this sanctuary will leave you in awe.
