Lakhaniya Dari Waterfall is a hidden gem located in the midst of dense forests in the Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh, about 50 kilometers away from Varanasi.

If you’re looking to escape the chaos of the city, this breathtaking waterfall is the perfect destination.

This wonder of nature cascades down from a height of about 60 feet, creating a natural pool at the base. And the best part? You can take a refreshing dip in the cool waters! Surrounded by lush greenery and diverse flora and fauna, Lakhaniya Dari Waterfall is a picnic spot loved by both locals and visitors.

The trek to the waterfall is an experience in itself, taking you through winding roads and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. But be warned, you’ll need to trek 2-3 km from the entry gate to reach the main waterfall, and cross huge rocks, rivulets, and jungles. So, wear comfortable shoes and clothing and carry your own food as there are no eating joints nearby. And remember, it’s a lonely place, so don’t forget to bring a friend or two!

But the real adventure begins when you get into the water. The rocks are mysterious, and every year there are cases of people getting in and not coming back out. So, if you’re feeling daring, take a walk downstream before jumping in!

The best time to visit Lakhaniya Dari Waterfall is during the monsoon season, from July to September, when the waterfall is in full strength. But be prepared for heavy rains and flooding, so check the weather conditions before planning your trip. And if you’re visiting during the winter months, from November to February, the water is cold but the surrounding hills and forests provide a picturesque setting for a picnic.

To get to Lakhaniya Dari Waterfall, visitors can hire a taxi or a private car from Varanasi, take a bus from Varanasi to Mughalsarai and then a shared jeep or auto-rickshaw to the waterfall, or take a train from Varanasi to Mughalsarai railway station and then a shared jeep or auto-rickshaw.

Remember to carry a map or GPS device, wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and bring your own essentials like water, snacks, and sunscreen. And finally, there’s no official entry fee, but visitors may need to pay a small fee for parking their vehicles. So, pack your bags and head to Lakhaniya Dari Waterfall for a day of adventure and relaxation in the midst of nature!
