Konkandiva Fort is a fort located 70 km from Pune in Maharashtra.

Are you looking for an exciting trekking experience that will challenge your senses and take you off the beaten path?

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Another fort in Maharashtra? What’s so special about this one?” Well, my friends, let me tell you. Konkan Diva Fort is not just any fort – it’s a watchtower, built to guard against invasion from the Ghol Village side along the Mutha River. And while the primary attraction in the Raigad region may be the famous Raigad Fort, there were many secondary forts set up in the area to protect the royal families, and Konkan Diva Fort is one of them.

The Konkan Diva Fort trek is a challenging one, taking you through a dense forest and up a steep climb to the base of the fort. But trust me, it’s worth it. As you ascend, you’ll come across a Devrai (a forest dedicated to the Gods), and once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the surrounding area, including the lit villages of Konkan and the Kaal River flowing in the distance.

Now, I have to warn you – there are a few tricky spots on the trek. There’s a rock patch of approximately 10 feet that you’ll need to climb, which can get pretty slippery during the monsoon season. It’s strongly advised to bring a rope for safety. And once you reach the top, there’s loose stone on the path, so be careful!

But trust me, it’s all worth it for the incredible views you’ll see from the top. From Konkan Diva Fort, you can see Raigad Fort to the south, Lingana to the southeast, and Torna Fort to the east. It’s truly a breathtaking sight.

There are two popular routes to the fort. The easiest is via Garjaiwadi – just reach Ghol via Pune-Panshet-Dapsar-Ghol, and from there take a right towards Garjaiwadi. In about an hour, you’ll reach Garjaiwadi, and from there it’s just a short walk to the fort.

The other route is via Sandoshi, which requires reaching Mahad via Mumbai-Panvel-Mahad and then reaching Sandoshi via Mahad-Pachad-Sandoshi. Autos, 6 seaters, and S.T. buses are available on this route. From Sandoshi, it’s a two-hour ascent up the Kavlyaghaat to reach the fort.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your hiking boots, bring a rope, and get ready for an adventure to remember at Konkan Diva Fort! Happy trekking!
