Ah, the Kodiveri Dam & Waterfalls – is a hidden gem nestled on the Bhavani River near Gobichettipalayam in Tamil Nadu.

Not only is it a scenic picnic spot and major tourist attraction, but it also provides irrigation water for over 25000 hectares of land.

But let’s get down to the good stuff – the waterfall! The gushing river water creates a little waterfall that is a pure visual delight. And the best part? It’s safe to take a dip or even go for a swim! Just watch out for those coracle rowers who catch and sell fresh fish – they might mistake you for a new type of fish.

And if you’re feeling peckish after your swim, why not try some freshly cooked fish? It doesn’t get much fresher than that, folks.

To get there, it’s just a short drive of 75 Kms from Coimbatore or 70 Kms from Erode. And once you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a beautiful park filled with attractions, rides and games for your entertainment.

But let’s not forget about the history of the dam. It was constructed by Kongalvan Vettuva Urali Gounder King in the year 1125 AD. Can you even imagine carving a 20-foot wall of rock back then? They sure don’t make dams like they used to.

So what are you waiting for? Pack your swimsuit, grab some sunscreen, and head to Kodiveri Dam & Waterfalls for a day of fun, relaxation, and a little bit of history.
