Khaspur, once, had a nice palace, but now only you can see ruins. But don’t let the lack of a palace bring you down! There are still some ruins of Dimasa kingdom like Lion Gate and Sun Gate! and of course the main gate with elephant patterns!

Khaspur has plenty to offer, and its proximity to Silchar makes it a great destination for tourists.

Khaspur has a fascinating history too. Originally part of the Tripura Kingdom, it was ruled by a tributary ruler before gaining independence after the fall of Koch power. Then, the Kachari rulers took over and made it their capital.

When you’re in Khaspur, make sure to check out Maibong, a beautiful hill station that’s a bit of a trek but totally worth it. And if you’re in the mood for even more scenic views, head over to Umgranshu. Plus, there’s a hot spring nearby. Who doesn’t love a good hot spring?

Getting to Khaspur isn’t too difficult. Silchar is the nearest railway station, and you can find regular trains to major cities of India from there. Or, you can take a bus from Silchar airport to nearby towns and cities like Shillong, Guwahati, Imphal, and Aizawl. And of course, there are plenty of rental cabs available for you to take on your travels.

If you’re planning a trip to Khaspur, make sure to visit during the winter. It’s dry, cool, and the best time to enjoy all that this small village has to offer. But be warned: summers are hot and humid, and monsoons bring heavy rains. So bring your raincoat just in case!

Overall, Khaspur may be small, but it’s full of history and culture that you won’t want to miss. And who knows, you might even spot an elephant-patterned entrance gate or two. Happy travels!
