Looking for a wild adventure amidst nature? Look no further than the Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary in Himachal Pradesh! This sanctuary is a perfect blend of thick deodar foliage, snowcapped mountains, and wildlife, making it a paradise for nature lovers. And if you’re lucky, you might just spot a black bear or a Himalayan black marten during your trek!

To get into the sanctuary, you’ll need permission from the District Forest Officer, Chamba. And while there are no guided tours offered by the forest department, you can easily hire a taxi at Dalhousie to take you sightseeing around the area.

The trekking trails in the sanctuary are a fairytale come to life, with towering deodar, coniferous, rhododendron, oak and fir trees surrounding you. And when you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the Pir Panjal range – it’s enough to take your breath away!

But if all that trekking and hiking is making you hungry, head over to the small canteen inside the sanctuary for some local snacks and tea. We highly recommend trying the pakoras, tea, and Maggi – they’re sure to hit the spot!

If you want to stay in the sanctuary, you can book the small guesthouse located inside the premises. And what makes it even more exciting is the fact that it was featured in the Bollywood movie “Lootera”. But be sure to make your reservations at least 10 days in advance – this place fills up fast!

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary for an adventure you’ll never forget! Just remember to pack your sense of humor and your running shoes – just in case.
