Welcome to the enchanting Jana Waterfall, located near Manali in the quaint village of Jana!

If you’re an adventure enthusiast who loves trekking through dense deodar and pine trees amidst snow-capped mountains, then this is a perfect destination for you. But don’t worry, even if you’re a beginner level hiker, you can conquer this trek with ease.

As you trek towards the waterfall, you’ll come across a wooden bridge laid perpendicular to the direction of the Jana Falls. This is where you’ll feel like Indiana Jones crossing the rope bridge in the Temple of Doom. And hey, if you’re looking for a break, there’s even a seating arrangement near the waterfall where you can soak in the beauty of nature.

You can reach the waterfall on two-wheelers, but we wouldn’t recommend it. The rugged and rocky landscape is not the best for a smooth ride. So, we suggest you hire a shared or private taxi to reach the village of Jana. Plus, there are some stalls near the waterfall that sell local snacks.

But wait, there’s more! If you’re a foodie like us, you’ll definitely want to check out Maniram’s Dhaba, the oldest dhaba in the area. They serve delicious Himachali food with siddu, rajma and rice that will leave you craving for more. The best part? They feed you with so much love and happiness that you’ll feel like you’re having a meal with family. And if you’re looking for a place to stay, they can manage that too. Plus, they also sell desi ghee made from milk from cows in their farms. You can also pick up some local apricot seed oil, called ‘Chulli ka tel,’ as a souvenir.

The winter season, between September and June, is the best time to visit. The temperature drops immensely during this season, making the trek a little challenging but totally worth it. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a dip in the waterfall pool. However, we would suggest avoiding the monsoon season as the region is susceptible to landslides during this time.

So, pack your trekking shoes, hire a taxi, and head to Jana Waterfall for an unforgettable adventure filled with local food, beautiful landscapes, and heartwarming experiences.
