Welcome to Mayapur, the land of peace and devotion, situated between the rivers Hoogly and Jalangi. This place is so serene that you can literally hear your thoughts calming down. And what’s more, you can reach here easily by roads and railways, just 130 km from Kolkata.

But let’s cut to the chase, the main reason why people come to Mayapur is for the Mayapur Chandrodaya Temple of ISKCON, which is the holiest of all places in India. Devotees from all over the world come here to seek the blessings of Lord Krishna and witness the magnificent deities of Pancatattva, Lord Nrisingha Dev, Srila Prabhupada, and Radha-Madhav with the Gopis. Believe me, the devotion in the air here is so strong that it will make you feel like you’re floating.

But it’s not just about the temple, the entire place is like a balm to your soul. The natural beauty, combined with the religious aura, creates a perfect environment for spiritual growth. And if you’re a book lover, then you’ll love the various book shops here. And for those who want to stay here, there is a guest house too.

But hold on to your hats, because the Sri Sri Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir, also known as the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium, is under construction and when completed, it will be the world’s largest Hindu temple and one of the tallest temples. The temple is a blend of eastern and western architecture, and the height of this temple is a staggering 113 meters! It was originally aimed to be completed in 2022, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the opening date may be pushed to late 2023.

So, come and visit Mayapur, the land of devotion, peace, and spirituality. Who knows, you might just find what you’ve been looking for all this time.
