Gun Hill in Mussoorie, provides a a spectacular view of the Himalayan ranges and the Doon Valley. But wait, did you know that Gun Hill used to be an extinct volcano? That’s right, but now it’s a popular attraction for photographers and nature lovers, and for good reason!

One of the highlights of Gun Hill is the ropeway. Not only does it provide a scenic view of the Himalayan ranges, but it also offers an excellent opportunity to take some stunning photographs. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even get off the ropeway midway to soak in the views.

But that’s not all, folks! Do you have kids with you? Then let them enjoy a merry-go-round while you indulge in some little games at the small activity shops, like balloon-shooting and ring-throw. And if you’re feeling peckish, don’t miss out on the steaming hot Maggi and pakoras available here. Trust us, they’re worth a shot!

Did you know that Gun Hill got its name from a canon that was fired during pre-independence days to adjust people’s watches? And the British even brought up a canon to the hill during the Sepoy Mutiny to guide the locals to their watches every day at noon! Fascinating, isn’t it?

Gun Hill is easily accessible by cable cars, which cost INR 75 per head for a round trip. And if you’re feeling up for a quick trek, you can climb to the top in just 20 minutes. It’s a memorable experience, with tall dense trees and leaves that crackle under your feet.

So pack your bags, grab your camera, and head to Gun Hill for a day full of fun and adventure! And don’t forget to take a look through the telescope for an enthralling view.
