Gohad Fort is near Gohad city in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh. Now the fort is marked for much needed conservation under UNESCO project. The fort has some exquisite gateways, chain gate (Sankal Darwaja), Elephant Gate which is left to ruins for lack of funds. The fort is located on the scenic Vaishali river and is a legacy of Jat kings.

The fort is one of the numerous fort around the city of Gohad which were built by Jat kings for the protection of the people. The Rana Jat ruler Singhandev II constructed it in 1505.

The fort has some exquisite gateways, chain gate (Sankal Darwaja), Elephant Gate), the sculptures on buildings. The location was elected strategically on the Vaisli River where it takes a circular turn, hence the fort is also in circular shape. Khas Mahal, Shish Mahal, Sat-Bhanwar, Deoghar, Khas Darbar, Am Darbar, Bhandar Grih and Rani Bagh, Temples and ponds are other important spots.
