Gangabal Lake, one of the most beautiful and less explored destinations in Kashmir.

Starting and finishing in the bustling city of Srinagar, the 8-day trek to Gangabal will take you through some of the most picturesque places in the region. But be warned, this trek is not for the faint of heart! You’ll need some serious trekking skills to overcome the challenging situations you’ll encounter along the way. Luckily, the stunning views of Himalayan wildlife and striking flora, as well as the flower-strewn meadows and alpine lakes like Kishansar and Vishansar, will give you a breather from the tough terrain.

But that’s not all! On your journey, you’ll also have the chance to meet the nomadic tribes of Gujars and Bakarwals, adding an extra dimension to your adventure.

Now, don’t worry if you’re a beginner trekker. The Narang-Gangabal-Trek expedition is considered an easy trek, with a well-established path and an altitude that stays under 3700m asl. However, you’ll still need to be fit enough to trek for hours, walk a few kilometers daily, have no breathing problems, and not be scared of heights.

But let’s not forget about the best part of the trek – the Gangabal Lake! This oligotrophic lake is not only stunningly beautiful but also perfect for rainbow and brown trout fishing. And if you’re lucky enough to be camping at Nundkol or Gangabal, you’ll have the chance to wake up to breathtaking views every morning.
