Fort Mornington is a fort Gadiara village in Howrah district in West Bengal. The fort is located in the confluence of Damodar, Hooghly and Rupnarayan rivers.

Rao Jodha who wanted to build a dream fort and was looking for a suitable. After the selection of place in Jodhpur, he forced everyone in the place to leave. One saint Chidiyawale Baba, who lived there , was distraught with the way the people and cursed the king with draught for his kingdom – if he built the place. Knowing it, Rao Jodha was left with no choice but to fell at the feet of the baba. To overcome the curse, a noble minded man Rajaram Meghwal sacrificed his life in an ceremony to protect the land.

The entry fee for Indians is INR 100 and you have to pay camera charges INR 100 for mobile/ipad still photography. There is also an elevator to reach top, for each adult they charge INR 50 for one way. You can also hire a guide for INR 300 for 3-4 persons and INR 600 for 30 -50 persons max. There is a parking charge of INR 50 for car.
There is a restaurant at the bottom of the fort at decent price.
