Fort Geldria is the only fort built by Dutch during early 17th century. It protected the important sea route on Coromandel coast. Now, the monument is protected by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). It looks now, more as a cemetry with 76 tombs in Dutch architecture. Some fortifications and arches look grand.
It is near the Pulicat Wetlands and is very near Pulicat Bird Sanctuary. One who is visiting the bird reserve or boating can spend a few minutes here. There are no entry fees.
