Daijokyo Buddhist Temple is a peaceful temple away from hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Here, the major attraction is undoubtedly the 64-foot-tall Great Buddha Statue made of sandstone and granite. It’s so impressive that visitors flock here in droves just to gaze upon its serene features. Along with the great Buddha, one can also enjoy the statues of Ten Great Disciples of Buddha that stand on either side of the Great Buddha, as if guarding him.

The Shakado, established in 1983, is the main building of the temple and houses the principal images of Daijokyo. It’s like a treasure trove of all things Buddhist! And if you’re in the mood for some meditation, the grand meditation hall is the perfect place to get your Zen on.

Did you know that Daijokyo is an international circle of Buddhists? And as a member of this exclusive club, they’ve established the Shakado to contribute to the prosperity of Bodhgaya and overcome the barriers of differences in tradition and culture. It’s like a global mission to spread good vibes and positive energy!

So, whether you’re a devout Buddhist or just someone looking to soak in some peaceful vibes, Daijokyo Buddhist Temple is the place for you. And don’t worry about nationality or religion – everyone is welcome!
