Christ Anglican Churches – in Kasauli is one of the oldest church of Himachal Pradesh.

This place has a unique charm that will make you forget that you’re actually visiting a church. Its picturesque structure and scenic beauty will make you feel like you’re in a fairy tale.

It was founded by some fancy chap named Chaplain Thomas John Edward Steel, M.A., St. John’s College, Cambridge, on 24 July, 1853. But, it wasn’t until 1857 that the Bishop of Calcutta declared it a holy place. Talk about being fashionably late!

Do you know, its stained glass windows are imported from England, Italy and Spain ?

They depict Christ, Mary, Saint Barnabas and Saint Francis. And let me tell you, they are so beautiful that you’ll forget you’re in a church and start feeling like you’re in a museum.

But, the most exciting part of this church is its exteriors. It’s surrounded by a cemetery with graves dating back to the 1850s and earlier. But wait, before you start screaming and running away, let me tell you that it’s a quiet place, so you can’t make any noise or speak loudly here. So, it’s the perfect place for bird watching or just enjoying the view of lush green landscapes.

So, if you’re ever in Kasauli, make sure to stop by Christ Church.
