Chalal is a little village that has managed to stay off the mainstream radar despite being in the heart of the majestic Himalayas!

Yes, Kasol may be stealing all the spotlight, but let me tell you, Chalal is where the true magic happens. With its old-world charm and stunning views of snow-capped mountains and towering pine trees, it’s no wonder this place has been nicknamed the “Israel of Himachal Pradesh”.

The large number of backpackers and tourists that visit Chalal have given rise to some pretty wild parties deep in the forests. And let’s be honest, there’s no better place to party than nestled within the mountains under a mystical sky full of stars.

But fear not my fellow adventurers, if partying isn’t your thing, Chalal still has plenty to offer. The delight of losing yourself in the glory of the mountains and living the simple life still remains within the tiny hamlet of Chalal, making it a beautiful essential for backpackers across the globe.

Now, the trek from Kasol to Chalal may seem a little daunting, but trust me, it’s totally worth the heart-pounding feeling. Once you cross the suspended bridge over the magnificent Parvati river, follow the trail and stick to the narrow left path along the river that leads into the dense forest of towering pine trees, which opens up to the entrance of this enchanting village.

And let’s not forget about the food! Chalal is loaded with cafes like the Freedom Cafe, Shiva Cafe, Fusion Cafe, and Guru Cafe, where one can sit back and relax while eating some delicious food and chilling out with interesting fellow travellers. The falafel, hummus, pita bread and pancakes are an experience one will not easily forget.
