Byrdaw falls is a hidden gem located in the corner of Meghalaya.

This waterfall is a unique beauty among the rest in the Khasi Jaintia Hills. It’s located in Pomshutia Village, just 5 KM away from the Dawki village and 73 KM away from the city of Shillong.

Now, you might be thinking, “Another waterfall, big whoop” but trust me, this one is special. Despite the fact that it’s not well-known, few tourists have discovered this place and fallen in love with its beauty, good social behavior and most importantly, its uniqueness.

In fact, it’s even a source of income for some of the locals. But, the sad truth is that not many people know about this place due to poor advertisement and lack of government encouragement.

But, enough about the negatives, let’s talk about the positives. This waterfall has a cave-like structure, where the water flows and visitors can safely walk down to the falls. The fresh air, the breeze, and the unique characteristics make this waterfall one-of-a-kind.

It attracts visitors from far-flung areas as well as nearby villages. And, let me tell you, once you see it, you’ll want to come back again and again.
