Budher Caves, also known as Miola caves, is located about 30 km away from Chakrata. These caves are perfect for those seeking an adrenaline rush and some serious caving opportunities.

Legend has it that the Pandavas, during their “Vanvaas” or exile before the Mahabharata War, dug these caves. The cave is about 150m long and has magnificent stalagmite and stalactite formations. But be warned, this cave is not for the faint of heart! You’ll need a torchlight to navigate through the total darkness of the cave, and if you’re claustrophobic or afraid of the dark, this might not be the adventure for you.

But before you enter the caves, take a walk through the Pine tree jungle, which will make you feel comfortable and ready for the climb ahead (total of 2.5 km walk). As you climb, you’ll come across a beautiful view of the lush green grasslands, which will leave you in awe of God’s beautiful creation.

But wait, there’s more! On your way to the Budher caves, you’ll also come across an ancient temple built by the local adivasis. Though there is no idol inside, you’ll see lots of horns from small animals and coins nailed at the entrance. It’s a unique and amazing experience that you won’t forget.

So, are you ready to explore the Budher caves and feel like Indiana Jones for a day? Just remember to bring torchlight!
