The sanctuary is located just 5 kilometres away from the Bassi Fort Palace, which is a must-visit destination in its own right. The sanctuary is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including trees like the Dhok, Churel, Butea, and many medicinal herbs and flowering plants.

The Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is home to Jackals, Hyenas, Cheetahs, and other wild cats, Wild Boars, Porcupines, Langurs, Four Horned Antelopes, and some other creatures. Birdwatchers will have a field day spotting Peacocks, Pigeons, Peafowls, Saras Cranes, Blue Bulls, Lesser Whistling Ducks, Cuckoos, Hawks, Eagles, and Storks.
