Kondaveedu Fort is a historically significant ancient hill fortress located in the village of Kondaveedu, near Chilakaluripet in Andhra Pradesh, India.
The fort is roughly 20 kilometers from Guntur town.
The Fort was constructed by Prolaya Vema Reddi and was the capital of Reddi dynasty, which ruled the region between 1328 and 1482. Later, the kingdom was merged with Vijayanagara empire.
There are two hill (ghat) sections, which form the hill ranges, one is to the north, which provides a very steep but short access to the forts. Now, the roads are paved well, one can take our motor transport above.
The view from above and the greenery is mesmerizing. As the fort is near Guntur, one can take this into their itinerary, if they have time.
