Saraswathi Mahal Library is one of the oldest library in Asia. It is housed in a brilliant 16th century building with imposing arches.
It has rare manuscripts in various languages and also palm leaf manuscripts in sanskrit and arabic. A small fraction of them are on display.
The library has impressive collections thanks to the King Serfoji who has collected manuscripts from North India and even far and wide.
