Hey there fellow travelers! Are you ready to explore the ancient and holy city of Ayodhya? Well, then let me introduce you to one of the oldest and most fascinating temples in this spiritual hub – the Nageshwarnath Temple.

Legend has it that Lord Rama’s son, Kush, lost his armlet while taking a dip in the Sarayu river. But don’t worry, he wasn’t left empty-handed for long! A Shiva devotee called Nag-Kanya found the armlet and fell in love with Kush. In return for her devotion, Kush erected the Nageshwarnath Temple for her.

And let me tell you, this temple has been around for a long time – since 750 AD, to be exact. The current temple, however, was reconstructed in 1750 by Safdar Jung’s minister, Naval Rai.

The temple attracts a lot of devotees during Mahashivaratri and Trayodashi. And if you’re lucky enough to be here during the festival of Shivratri, you’ll get to witness the grand Shiv Barat procession.

But before you head over, remember that this is a place of worship, so decorum is a must. Leave your shoes and chappals at the nearby shops and soak in the grandeur of the heritage and traditions that this temple holds.

So there you have it, folks – the Nageshwarnath Temple, a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Ayodhya. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the spiritual vibe and amazing architecture of this ancient temple.
