Aravalli Biodiversity Park, is located on 699 acres of land northwest of Vasant Vihar near Delhi and Gurgaon.

This park is a refreshing oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Gurugram city.

If you’re wondering how to get to the ABP, you can approach it from either the Vasant Vihar-Poorvi Marg gate or the Vasant Kunj Institutional gate. And once you’re there, you can enjoy a range of activities, from jogging and bicycling to attending events at the auditorium and marveling at the stunning sunsets.

But let’s not forget about the real stars of the ABP – the medicinal plants! Overexploitation of these plants from the Aravallis has led to the local extinction of many species, but the ABP is not only preserving them, but also multiplying them. With over 240 plant species of medicinal importance, including Asthama bel, Brahmi, Gugal, and Rudraksh, the ABP is a real treasure trove of natural medicine.

Now, I have to admit, I visited the ABP primarily for bird watching. And while the track is heavily fenced and it’s not possible to go deep into the forest to spot birds, the designated nature tracks are unfortunately locked. Plus, feeding animals is a punishable offense, so the birds prefer to stay deep in the jungle. And let’s not forget about the noise of planes flying overhead scaring off the little critters.

The ABP is still a great place to go for a jog or a cycle ride, and it’s sure to provide a close-to-nature experience that’ll leave you feeling refreshed and invigorated. And who knows, maybe you’ll spot a wild bird or two if you’re lucky! Just don’t get your hopes up too high.

So, if you’re in Gurugram and you’re looking for a fun outdoor experience, be sure to check out the Aravalli Biodiversity Park.
