Najafgarh Drain Bird Sanctuary is on the Najafgarh drain canal (which was once called as Sahibi river as a tributary of Yamuna river)which runs through from Dwaraka in Delhi to all the way to Bhindawas near Jhajjar in Haryana.
It is a wetland ecosystem, which is to be formed as a sanctuary as it attracts migratory birds.
It is roughly 30 kilometers from Dwaraka and is on a scenic well tarred road. At the bird sanctuary point, the canal looks like a lengthy lake, where people catch fish.
The bird sanctuary area spread across 5000 acres of land and some are cultivable land of farmers. The greatest attraction among the migratory bird is are the flamingoes.
