Tamil Nadu has 3 big forest ranges. In the north western part corner there is Mudumalai Forests , Sholayar/Silent Valley Forests /Annamalai Tiger Reserve near Coimbatore and Kalakkad and Mundanthurai reserves in southern part of Tamil Nadu.
Besides the jungles, there are enough wetlands across the state which attracts migratory birds from Central Asia.
